FEATURED SUPPLIERS: PHOTOGRAPHERS

We are lucky in that we deal with dozens of suppliers at each and every wedding we attend. It's great to meet so many skilled and passionate experts, so we thought we'd focus on a few of them in our blog. This post looks at photographers.

These are just a few that caught our imagination, all involved in photographing weddings that we have attended. They are all similar in that they are great at what they do, and are a pleasure to deal with. If you have any other recommendations, please let us know!

RICHARD MURGATROYD PHOTOGRAPHY

Richard photographed Becky and Gavin's wedding on 7th August 2014. They married at Buxted Park where, fortunately, the weather obliged meaning that we could go for a short drive to get a few photos of the happy couple.

Richard's work is a relaxed, unobtrusive documentary-style of photography. He says that his objective is to "tell your story without getting in the way of it".

His website is fantastically organised with easy-to-browse galleries, and he is incredibly enthusiastic and a delight to deal with.

YOLANDA FROST PHOTOGRAPHY

Yolanda Frost got in touch with us after Lucy and Andrew's wedding on 21st June 2014 to share her beautiful photos of this lovely couple.

Like us, Yolanda covers Sussex and Kent and takes great pride in the fact that her photos are edited by hand, not by any batch processes. This picture of Lucy, Andrew and Bertie, our Bentley, is one of our favourite pictures of our Bentley with the bride and groom taking pride of place in the centre of the picture.

You can see Lucy and Andrew's testimonial on our website.

PHOTOGRAPHY BY VICKI

Vicki got a few pictures of our Bentley on wedding duty at Natalie and Justin's wedding on 1st March 2014, but her photography took our breath away. With rich colours, incredible editing and an absolutely enchanting end result, her photos are absolutely spell-binding.

Vicki is incredibly passionate and loves telling a story through her photography. She covers the whole of the UK, and her blog has some great examples of her work and shows just how much she lives and breathes photography.

APIX PHOTOGRAPHY

Tristan photographed our Jaguar Mark 2 at Vanessa and Steve's wedding back in February 2012. His photos are incredible and looked as if they were from the pages of a magazine. They were beautifully captured, fantastically edited and stopped us in our tracks.

He covers London, Surrey, Sussex (Brighton), Kent, Hampshire, Berks, Bucks and Oxfordshire and also the South West: Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset - and is willing to travel further, too. His documentary-style photography is unobtrusive and effortless and the end result is something beautiful.

SAM YARDLEY PHOTOGRAPHY

Our final mention goes to Sam Yardley Photography. We adore this picture showing Keith, the owner and driver of our Bentley, putting the finishing touches to the car as it waits to pick up Christina and Rob for their wedding on 12th April 2014. We love that she captures little moments like this that others might miss.

HOW TO SAVE MONEY ON CAR HIRE

The average cost of a wedding in the UK is nearly £18,000, so every penny counts when it comes to planning the big day. Here are a few tips on getting the most out of your wedding budget when it comes to transport.

CHANGE THE DAY

Traditionally, weddings are normally a Saturday. We charge less for weekday and Sunday weddings because there is less demand and we're keen to have our cars out and about as much as possible. You can normally save around £50, sometimes more, if you avoid Saturdays.

CHANGE THE CAR

Our Bentley and Rolls Royce are our most popular cars, but we also offer more modern Jaguar XJ8s and a pair of lovely Morris Minors. Our XJ8s cost £250 on their own, or £400 as a pair. They look great together and are flexible and comfortable.

Our Morris Minors cost between £200-250, and are available at £400 as a pair - we have both a Traveller and an open top which look gorgeous together.

BOOK EARLY... OR LATE

If you reserve early, the price we quote will be the price you pay, even if we put our rates up before your wedding. We also offer discounts on last-minute bookings. If it's a month-or-so before the big day, it's always worth getting in touch to see if we have availability as we can often offer big discounts.

SAVE ON A SECOND CAR

If you're only around ten-minutes away from the church or first venue, we normally offer a complimentary trip for the bridesmaids and then return for the bride. In cases where this isn't possible, we recommend hiring a second car, which is normally around £150 for one of our XJ8s.

USE A SINGLE VENUE

If your wedding and reception are at the same venue, you'll save £50 on our Rolls Royce or Bentley.
